The 1929 Sassoon House under the green copper pyramid — the building that defines Bund Art Deco — and the rooms are in the old building itself. The Old Jazz Band still plays the bar every night, as it has for decades.

Worth knowing before you book. Inner rooms face a closed lightwell with no view — pay for the view or avoid the category. One thing to know if you are booking ahead: the hotel is due to reopen as a Raffles in 2027, staying open through the changeover, so expect renovation work in parts of the building before then.
